Mariska van Asselt graduated as a farm animal veterinarian and has been working for Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Dronten since 2006. In 2019, she completed her doctoral research on stakeholder perception and moral values in the poultry farming sector. Nowadays, she is mainly involved in projects of the Cattle Health Management professorship, where her research mainly focuses on cattle health and welfare, and animal ethics. She carries out the practice-based research together with cattle farmers, students and other stakeholders in the field of practice. Mariska is also secretary of the Animal Welfare Body (IvD) and a member of the Ethical Research Commission (ECO).
