Faculty Dronten

In the ‘Sustainable entrepreneurship’ program, we work towards responsible entrepreneurship and sustainable business development in the agri-food sector, in business and throughout the chain. In other words: a more sustainable way of producing food, in which we focus on the environment and society’s needs within the context of technical and strategic innovation. Attention is given to animal welfare, data-driven operation, profitability and the closing of life cycles in different ways at different levels.

Aeres Hogeschool Dronten is a university of applied sciences (UAS) faculty with a wide range of facilities. Students can, for instance, relax in the restaurant, practice agritech in the technology centre or collect information in the multimedia library. All the facilities are modern and up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in professional practice.

Dronten is quite a new town, with 35,000 inhabitants. People have migrated here to work in the new 'Province of Flevoland' in the 1960's. The land was reclaimed from the sea and turned into the current polder. Today, the town is no longer a pioneering community, but a provincial town in The Netherlands made special by its modern amenities, and affluent, easy atmosphere. The population is a good cross-section of modern Dutch society. Shops, sports facilities, medical care centres, cultural activities, a theatre, cinema, various restaurants and bars are easy to find. The town is typified by open spaces, modern architecture, green areas and parks. It is a popular place to live.

Our building is easily accessible by car, public transportation and bicycle. There is free parking just a few minutes walk from the building. Bus stop 'Aeres Hogeschool' stops right in front of the building and is less than a minute's walk away. From Dronten station you can take the bus or bike. It is about ten minutes by bike.
