The Associate degree (Ad) program Educational Professional Vocational Education of the faculty in Wageningen received the Top Program designation according to the Keuzegids Higher Education 2025. The program scores above average in all areas. The faculty’s agricultural studies in Dronten also perform well. The bachelor's programs Horticulture & Arable Farming (for the seventh consecutive year) and Animal Husbandry (for the fourth consecutive time) also received the top program designation. This was revealed in the figures presented today by Keuzegids hbo 2025.

The faculty of Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Wageningen is awarded this year with the Ad program Educational Professional Vocational Education (which includes studies such as Bushcraft, Hospitality, Bakery & Recreation, and the Green Sector). Students are very satisfied with the teachers, career preparation, atmosphere, assessment methods, and career preparation. These students are trained to teach in secondary vocational education or at a community college level. They learn how to use their knowledge and expertise to support teachers/teaching teams during lessons. During the two-year study, they develop skills to pass on their enthusiasm for the profession to future professionals. The teacher-student relationship is very good. Both teachers and students learn a lot from and with each other. The teaching team is very happy with the great appreciation.

Entrepreneurship is important

Students at Aeres University of Applied Sciences gain expertise in the domains of environment, business administration, agro, and education. They learn in a world where transitions are necessary, where entrepreneurship and action are important, and where it's about connecting rather than polarizing. Teachers and researchers have the important task of preparing students for their role in societal challenges. The students of the top programs Horticulture & Arable Farming (which also includes the study Agricultural Entrepreneurship Horticulture & Arable Farming) and Animal Husbandry (which includes studies such as Agricultural Entrepreneurship Animal Husbandry, Pig and Poultry Farming, and Animal Health & Management) also work with these challenges. Both top programs score well in the ranking. Students appreciate the content, the competent teachers, the atmosphere, and the way they are assessed. The content of the Horticulture & Arable Farming program is greatly appreciated by students.
